Brooke Milliet, of Durango, CO, was honored with the Jan Wilson-Hetzler Outstanding Female Senior Athlete Award at the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) banquet, held April 20 in the Student Union Building Ballroom on the campus of Fort Lewis College. Milliet's major is Exercise Science - Exercise Physiology Option.

The Jan Wilson Hetzler Outstanding Senior Female Athlete of the Year award is presented each year to the most outstanding senior female athlete(s) at Fort Lewis College. It is named after Jan Wilson Hetzler, who was women's tennis coach and exercise science instructor at Fort Lewis College in the mid-1970s. Ms. Wilson Hetzler died of breast cancer on February 11, 1976. She was 31. The Department of Athletics named the award after her the following year and began presenting it to the most outstanding senior female athlete. A dual sport student-athlete, Milliet has been a starter on the Skyhawks women's soccer team and is a three-time Academic All-RMAC performer. On the field, she has earned all-region and all-conference accolades for soccer, while competing at a high level in indoor and outdoor track and field.
