Dillon Washburn named to the 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Golf All-Academic First Team

Dillon Washburn, of Pinetop, AZ, was named to the 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men's Golf All-Academic First Team. Washburn is a Accounting major.

Washburn, who has earned the RMAC Men's Golf Summit award a record three times, competed in eight tournaments this year, and tallied a 77.4 stroke average through 22 rounds. He posted his lowest round of the season (72) on April 4 at the Western New Mexico Mustang Intercollegiate tournament. He was named the 2015-16 FLC Troy Bledsoe Male Scholar-Athlete, which is presented each year to the senior male and female student-athletes who best exemplify the balance of excellence in athletics and the classroom. Washburn garnered Academic All-Region VI honors last year and was named the RMAC Men's Golf Academic Player of the Year in 2013-14.

This award is voted on by the league's sports information directors. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters. All student-athletes that meet those requirements, but were not voted First Team All-Academic automatically qualify for Honor Roll.
