Kylie Santos was honored at Fort Lewis College's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee banquet

Kylie Santos, of Golden, CO, was honored with the Troy Bledsoe Female Scholar Athlete Award at the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) banquet, held April 20 in the Student Union Building Ballroom on the campus of Fort Lewis College. Santos's major is Accounting.

The Dr. Troy Bledsoe Scholar-Athlete Awards are presented each year to the senior male and female student-athletes who best exemplify the balance of excellence in athletics and the classroom. Dr. Bledsoe served as director of athletics at Fort Lewis College from 1974 to 1992. He was also head golf coach and head women's basketball coach at various points of his career. Dr. Bledsoe died on December 30, 2009. He was 83. The 2016 RMAC Women's Basketball Summit Award winner, Kylie Santos also earned First Team Academic All-Region VI and First Team RMAC All-Academic honors. Santos, a senior from Golden, Colo. is a Business Administration major with a 3.96 GPA. She finished her senior season competing in 28 games. Santos averaged 7.1 points and 26.4 minutes per game. She added 82 rebounds, 37 assists and 22 seconds. Santos earned RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll accolades as a sophomore before being voted to the RMAC All-Academic First Team as a junior and senior.
