Melissa Fundora earned 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Softball Post-Season Honors

Melissa Fundora, of Valencia, CA, earned 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Softball post season All-RMAC First Team accolades. Fundora is a Psychology major.

The Skyhawks career leader in at-bats, hits and doubles, Fundora finished her senior campaign with a .392 batting average after collecting 60 hits on 153 at-bats. She led the team in runs scored (38), doubles (16) and walks (18). Fundora was one of two Skyhawks to play in all 47 games, and the only Skyhawks to have started all 47 games. The RMAC Player of the Week on March 8, 2016, Fundora has been named the RMAC Softball Academic Player of the Year two times. A two-time all-conference performer, Fundora has been named to the Academic All-RMAC three times and was named to the 2014-15 CoSIDA Academic All-Region VI team. She was named the 2015-16 Jan Wilson Hetzler Outstanding Senior Female Athlete of the Year, which is presented each year to the most outstanding senior female student-athlete at Fort Lewis College.

This award is voted on by the league's sports information directors. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters. All student-athletes that meet those requirements, but were not voted First Team All-Academic automatically qualify for Honor Roll.
