Ryan Standish named a Collegiate Academic All-Star by USA Cycling

2015 Jun 29

Ryan Standish, of Highlands Ranch, CO, was named to USA Cycling's Collegiate Academic All-Star's Spring 2015 class. Standish's major is Exercise Science - Physiology option.

The Spring 2015 class of riders is composed of 60 riders from 17 different schools; 10 of these riders are from Fort Lewis College. All collegiate cyclists face the challenge of balancing school while racing, and the Academic All-Star program seeks to recognize those that go above and beyond by achieving top grades in the classroom while also competing at USA Cycling Collegiate National Championships.

In order to achieve Academic All-Star status, the athlete must have attended a USA Collegiate Cycling National Championship in the specified term for that honor and have maintained a 3.5 or higher GPA for the semester or term during which the nationals event falls. The names of these athletes will be published by USA Cycling in January and June of each year.

The Fort Lewis College Cycling Team was ranked the #2 Division I team in the country after the 2014-15 academic year.
