Victoria Johnson earned 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Softball Post-Season Honors

Victoria Johnson, of Bakersfield, CA, earned 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Softball post season Honorable Mention accolades. Johnson is a Sociology & Human Services major.

Senior pitcher Johnson started 22 games in the circle and appeared in 29 games. She ranked second among all RMAC pitchers with 128 strikeouts. Johnson led the team in innings pitched (141.2), strikeouts, wins (10) and earned run average (4.40). She recorded a no-hitter on Feb. 12 against Cameron in an 8-0, five inning win. She tallied a season high 11 strikeouts at UCCS on Feb. 27. The FLC career leader in wins, Johnson was tabbed the RMAC Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 16 while also earning the FLC Student-Athlete of the Week honors four times this season.

This award is voted on by the league's sports information directors. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters. All student-athletes that meet those requirements, but were not voted First Team All-Academic automatically qualify for Honor Roll.
